Should I ask HIM out? Help!!!

Question - (13 February 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 14 February 2011)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey everyone,

So I have had a TA since September now. As soon as I saw him for the first time I was attracted. He has been giving me extremely high grades and has consistently gone out of his way to help me; seeing my outside his office hours later at night or in the morning. In class he always keeps eye contact with me and when I walk into the class he always smiles. In lecture, I often 'catch' him looking at me.

I just found out last week he was single for sure. He also sent me a really flattering e-mail.

My University does not forbid TA-student relationships as long as the grades are fair. I would love to drop a hint so that he can either ask me out or get that I have feelings for him.

What should I do? should I blatantly ask him out for a drink or coffee? Or just drop some sort of hint? (any ideas?)

Help!

Send him a flattering e-mail back.

If he likes you, he'll probably ask you out.

On the other hand there are great guys out there who are extremely shy and need to have a girl be the one to ask them out. If he's never asked any one out and you know that he couldn't get past that first nerve wracking stage without your helpful invite to drinks, then wait to see what his response is to the e-mail.

If your school is alright with it, and his position won't affect you guys having a healthy dating experience, then try not to worry about that part any more.
