 You know, your question has helped me today. I've decided that as soon as my boyfriend comes through the door today, I'm going to give him a hug and tell him how happy I am to see him. We haven't got any problems, but you know, sometimes you should make the effort anyway.
So, thanks for making me think about that. In answer to your question, shania has put it well already. Being 'happy to see' someone doesn't mean anything, but if your relationship is in trouble already, I can see why you'd be worried. You need to move away from the thing that has made you scared (her encounter with an ex) and look at WHY it's made you scared?

 Well it depends on how she meant it?.Did they split up,but remained good friends?...also,have you got worries over your relationship with your girlfriend? Are you two getting on just swell?....or are you having rows every so often? Your girlfriend was probably happy to see him but you might of taken it the wrong way...did you ask her why she was really happy to see him? If it meant nothing,maybe you should look at your own situation on why you find her ex a threat? Another thing on why she said it was because she wanted a response out of you...or to get your back up...maybe she feels neglected and she is trying to make you jealous...its just a thought.
