 No No No No! Anon, I have no idea where you got the idea of douching from, but any doctor or gyno will tell you that douching is BAD! Please, original poster, do NOT ever allow or as your girlfriend to douche!

Make sure that she's bathed that day before you go down on her. Also, if you're concentrating on her clitoris instead of her vagina, there should be little to no taste at all.
Try using a flavored lube if it bothers you. Do NOT ever use any kind of dairy product or sugary product in or around her vagina (such as chocolate sauce or whipped cream) because that can give her a very bad yeast infection. Only use products approved for vaginal use around the vagina.
Please keep in mind that a lot of women can only achieve orgasm through oral sex, so you're doing a good job trying to make sure she's being pleased as well.

 Have you said to her "do you like pineapple?" and if she says yes, give her some. It's meant to make it taste sweeter. Loads of other foods can affect it as well so maybe experiment a little and see what makes it taste better.
Maybe you just need to get used to the taste? it could taste better after a while.
