writes:ok this Guy Im really good friends with asked me to the prom, my original plan was to go with my friends but i didnt want to hurt his feelings so i said yes, u wasn't sure about it then but now its even worse because prom is june 1st!, we dont attend the same high schiol and one of his exes goes to the same school as me. i dont kbiw if he just wants to go with me to see her, and i dont want to go with him to the prom because that wasnt MY plan! he is really excited to go with me but idk what to do now, what should i do help!

 You should have been honest with him from the start. But if it is something you really don't want then tell him now before it is to late. But in future remember to think before you make decisions so that you don't hurt people, because maybe he actually just really likes you and he might get hurt.

reader, anonymous, writes (27 April 2012): I don't know maybe I'm silly but I believe that once I gave my word I stay true to it, when he asked you you should've said you'd think about it, instead of giving an answer straight away, but if he doesn't attend the same high school as you, it means you'll have another prom to attend right? ( I really know nothing of proms, because where I live we don't have such traditions) so you'll have another opportunity to go to the prom with somebody you really want to. Or you can say that you won't go with him... The thing I don't quite understand is, you don't like him, thus you don't want to go with him or you're bothered because he only asked you to make hi ex jealous?
