TaylorChu agony auntI agree with the two male readers there. You have to watch what you eat. Eat to fuel your body not to add calories. Your muscles are there but remember that its SKIN FAT MUSCLE just in that order. If you have a thick layer of fat you aren't going to see the muscle as well until you start burning the fat off.

The Men's Health advice is gold. Check out their website. I as a woman go there all the time because the information is great. When you are at the gym DO ask a trainer on exercises you can do to work ALL of your abdominals. Within that area you have 4 sets of muscles and they are layerd on top of each other: Transversus Abdominus, Rectus Abdominid (the six packs), Internal obliques and External obliques. There are exercises that focus especially on these to give you your sculpted, cut look.

I know that guys enjoy being ripped and you do look great. However, women arent only into how your body looks. I know guys are wired visually but women are wired different than that. A woman is looking for what is on the inside as in your personality and character and inner strength (think 80% character and 20% good looks when a woman is interested in a man for love). Biceps and abs are awesome but how does that make a woman feel security in her spirit soul and body? Something to think about if you are looking for lasting love in a relationship.

A reader, anonymous, writes (21 July 2007):

If you are slim and doing that many situps and leg raises then you must be doing them wrong. Just tell one of the trainers in the gym you want to work on you abs and they will show you how to properly perform sit-ups and leg raises to work your abs, rather than putting strain on other parts of your body. There are also a number of other exercises you can do to tone and define your abs. Ask a fitness instructor, it's what they are there for. Alternatively, you could purchase "Men's Health" magazine, they often have articles on toning stomach muscles.

Abs are earned in the kitchen, not the gym.

Your stomach muscles are likely plenty strong--your body fat percentage simply has to be low enough for them to be visible.
