writes:i'm on the pill, and me and my boyfriend have regular sex.the other week, i stayed over at his, and i forgot to take my pill for 2 days. we didnt have sex on those days, but when i stopped taking it, for a week so i can have my period, we had sex during that week, but when i came closer to my due date of my period, my period pains stopped hurting and i didnt come on, and im still waiting, cos we decided to wait another week. can i be pregnant? i have missed my pill before, and this has never happend, we're just really confused and scared.

reader, anonymous, writes (26 March 2010): Don't the instructions say that if you miss pills you should a)use extra protection for seven days after this and b)don't have a break between packs but take two without stopping in between. If you haven't followed either of these rules then yes of course you could be pregnant. Just because it hasn't happened before doesn't mean it won't now. Just get a test from the supermarket. An internet forum can't tell you if you are or not, but we can tell you that according to the instructions for taking the pill you, you haven't done it properly to guarantee protection, and therefore you may well be pregnant. Just get a test, or if it's too early for over the counter ones, go to the doctor. And if you are not prepared to take your contraception properly then expect to get pregnant.
Also you could consider Depo injections if you tend to forget the pill. Then you don't have to worry about it.

reader, anonymous, writes (26 March 2010): So I take it that your period was due to come and you missed it? If you have already missed your period take a pregnancy test now. If not wait until your period, see if it comes and if it doesn't then take a preg test. Good luck!
