Negative blood results, but still feel pregnant.

Hello everyone!, i posted a question few weeks ago regarding my period being late. I will state again that, my period comes between 28-35 days. I'm sexually active. My last period came on Mid-july. (July 19-22, 2007). It's september 11 now, and i STILL don't have my period. So overall, it's basically been 9 weeks since my period. I took a urine test, but negative. I took a blood test, came back negative. But i know for some reason, that i am pregnant. i just know it; headaches, slight cramps (like on my first day of my period), bloating, lower back pains, slight leg cramps, tightening of the waist, tingling pain on my breasts (comes and go), higher temps (comes and go also). But my appetite is still the same, but gained a little weight. I don't know what's going on with me, but if anything could advice me on this one. I'd gladly appreciate. Thanks.

malibubabes30 agony auntreplying to the female anonymous above....

just because you get a neg blood test does not mean that you are not pregnant, women can still bleed at the times their periods are due, and have a neg home pregnancy test and a neg blood test! i am going through the same thing here, and the doctor said to me that if the urine test is neg and the blood test is also neg then the only way to comfirm a pregnancy is to send me off to have a scan, then for sure will you know if you are pregnant or not, my doctor has told me to my face that it is very possible to still be pregnant and have neg test results and still bleed at the times your period is due. although it is not actualy a period, its lighter and doesnt usualy last as long more like light spotting one day and heavy the next then no bleeding at all, it all differs from one woman to the next as every one is different! this is more common than you think! then there is the rare blood group situation, this can also affect things! hope this helps girls :)

i already have a 2 1/2 yr old..youd think id know whats going on with my own body but i dont know anymore. i know ive been stressed but theres something in me telling me im pregnant. an ultrasound to detect and embryo would be the best way to go. hormone levels decrease and increase. instinct though..that and prayer..is the best advice i can offer.

recently i was having similar symptoms i was being sick and tired all the time craving kebabs and garlic spread on choc biscuits. I was sure i was pregnant, i took 4 home test they came up negative, i was still feeling like this a month on, but as i had my period i did not think nothing of it, i went to the doctors after nearly 3 months of feeling like this but as i was on my period he said stress,i asked for a female doctor and she asked me to do a pregnancy test it came up inconclusive. i had one positve from the hospital but too late as i was miscarrying my 3 month fetus. so if any one is sure that they are pregnant but getting negatives ask for a second opinion and if need-be a ultra sound scan

I can say that back in August of 07 I "felt" pregnant. I went to the doc they said hmmm your uterus is enlarged lets see if you have fibroids (history of that) but just in case they ordered a blood test. It came back negative....I thought ok just my body doing strange things. Another month went by I started spotting with a little mucus. I decided that I would take a HPT and it came out positive. I went back to the doc and they did another test at that time it came back positive as well. So you can be pregnant and get a negative result with blood. Not saying you are, other things contribute to AF not showing. I did end up losing the baby but circumstances in life didnt really set a good back drop for having a child. I just wanted to say that not always are blood right. I have read and been told a lot of times here lately a lot of test come out negative when they are positive it all depends on your body and how fast you produce that pregnancy hormone on how long it takes to get a positive.

Take care and best of luck to everyone ttc!

penta agony auntIf the baby didn't implant for 5 months, it would die of starvation. There are people who don't know that they're pregnant, but not implanting wouldn't work.

Well i've done a little bit of research, and there are somee for woman who can't get a positive blood test / urine test, until they're even 5 months along!. They say, sometimes the baby did not implant itself to the uterus as yet. So, hopefully, you get your answers soon !

Pip may I ask when you say they still feel pregnant do you mean even though they aren't?

A while ago I was convinced I was pregnant, I had all the symptoms etc. Turned out I wasn't & it was all in my head even though I was sure the 'butterfly feeling' must be it moving. Your mind does play tricks on you and maybe just talk to your Doctor about it as it's unlikely you are pregnant.

Usually, blood test are the most accurate way of detecting pregnancy. So more than likely you are not. If you are continuing to have symptoms go to the DR. and have them repeat the test.

A female reader, penta United States +, writes (11 September 2007):

penta agony auntDid you take one blood test or two?

When my tests all came back negative, they gave me TWO blood tests, a couple of days apart. The pregnancy hormone (hCG) practically doubles every day, so the first test sets the level and the second test measures the level against the first.

That test told me I was pregnant.

In any case, you should see a doctor in case it's something else. The symptoms you describe could be any number of things.

If the blood test was negative then you aren't pregnant. If you where and you HCG [I think it's called, it's the pregnancy hormone] where even just 1 it would be detected. As your period is still late talk to a Doctor about it, it could be anything such as an ovarian cylist.
