A female United Kingdom age 30-35, *pendy writes:

Why is this woman at work so horrible. I hate her?

I just got a new job and I'm not happy at all.

First day they couldn't provide me with a uniform so I came in with black smart clothes and I told my manager and she said it was fine.

A few hours in my job and a different manager from a different department came and told me to change my clothes the uniform she gave me was not my size and she said I'd have to buy uniform or not go on the floor.

So I bought a uniform with my own money.

Next day I went for my break and I was 5mins late due back and my supervisor was at the door waiting for me and almost attacked me and said they'd deduct it from my wages and I said okay that's fine.

She went and told another manager that i was rude to her. and I apologised said I'm sorry if it came out rude I was just shocked on how she attacked me at the door.

I don't think my supervisor likes me very much. I went on my break at 12:15 and when I came back she was at the door waiting for me again. and said I was late and I told her I'm right on time. She said I was lying and she'd check the cameras I said she can do that cause I'm not lying.

Today, I asked her what time it was (she told me to go on my break) she said 12.30 but when I checked the time with a girl there it was 12:40.

2 girls told me she was talking about me with the manager that told me to buy a uniform.

What is her problem?I'm not happy there at all.

My manager said I'm a nice girl, I work really hard and she likes me. But I hardly see her. Should I tell her all this?

Oh I forgot to mention in my other post- write these incidents down, as in the time, date, what did etc. as evidence, just in case :) xx

Tenderlovingcare agony auntI think you should talk to the highest manager. For example I work in retail in a supermarket. If this happened to me, I would not go to my department manager, I would go straight to the store manager. They are the ones that can file complaints and this woman is purposely trying to catch you out and obviously doesn't want you there. Make a diary of what happens on each break, if you don't want people to see do it when you get home and then show it to your highest manager when you've got a few bits in there x

MODNOTE: the paragraph about revenge methods was removed as all are illegal, even though at the end they were referred to as a "joke". The rest of the advice is excellent, and so the whole post was not rejected.

This woman obviously has hang ups about herself, her life, a control freak- you're right she is in the wrong; her behaviour is unprofessional, petty and there's no reason to be so aggressive and domineering...

I have had a LOT of experience with miserable/ temperamental/ psycho bosses; One occasion was so unfair what I did is write a formal grievance against the guy.

What you need to do is before you do that, speak to your manager about your concerns, definitely, and hopefully she will arrange a meeting with the supervisor so u can voice your grievances. If the behaviour carries on then it would be appropriate to write a formal grievance to the area manager. Her behaviour needs to be addressed.
