A female age 30-35, *nfinishedSymphony writes:

I went to visit my so called best friend at her university for a few days in october. During that time I had immediately grew rather attached with her boyfriends mate. We clicked, had loads in common and sitting opposite ends of a couch for 5 hours talking non-stop about eachother only heightened my feelings for him! I told my best friend after the first day of knowing him I had feelings for him. She told me not to go there and that he definitely wasn't right for me. When I asked her if she thought he had feelings for me, she answered she wasn't too sure.

After a few days of bumping into him, I went home thinking he only saw me as a friend. It was only coming home she rang me and told me he had asked if i had a boyfriend or not! I got cross, because she didn't tell me the truth when i asked her the first night. Obviously if she had, things would of been different.

He told me he liked me 3 days ago. I met up with him in a club last night. He had said she had purposely took him to the side and told him i was a slut, i constantly am never single (which contradicts the slut bit), im nasty, im a horrible person and that i would break his heart. Trust me, all of that is not true.

So apart from telling him lies about me and making me seem like something im not, she made excuses for me not to visit her (probably so i couldnt see him) and she also made a pass at him (even though shes going out with his best mate!)

I'm so annoyed...i've lost contact with her completely. If i saw her at the moment, i'd ither slap her or blank her completely. How could a friend to that to a friend!

I told him at the club last night, i dont think things would work if you keep listening to what shes saying about me. It hurts me to think he could be believing all this. I know he doesnt but still, you know?

Any advise on the matter? Anyway, I could completely wipe out all this unneeded drama? Like i've said i do think things could really really work out for me and him...thats if this changes of course. I'm going to visit him at his university (which of course is that same university as my bitch of a ex-friend) next week.

From what you are saying of her it doesnt appear that she is a true friend. True friends dont say stuff like that. I think she wants to get with him and that's why she is dissing on you. I would confront her if you want to salvage the friendship, if not write her off. As far as the guy goes, give it some time. If she keeps this up move on, girl.
