But the problem is all my friends have gone up to me first saying that they really like him, and one even said he's like her first real strong crush. Plus everyone knows me and him are close so now one by one all my mates want me to hook them up with him! *sigh* I'm really stuck. Can someone tell me how to work this out? Please....

Being close friends is a good sign. If your friends say they like him, why haven't they asked him out yet, they had their chance. If your sure he really likes you and you can see yourself with him in the future, i don't see why you shouldn't take your friends advice & hook up.
