Kay my friend told me she's 10 weeks pregnant (she cheated on her boyfriend with his friend and haven't told anyone yet besides me and other friend of hers) she took a home pregnancy test and it say she was going to be mommy. She completely freaked out and had a total melt down. As a joke I said you could always prom night dumper baby (ripped it off from family guy). She got all mad at me and said something about me being a bitch and I don't understand what's she's going through. She won't talk to me for some reason. I don't get it why she's acting like this.

A female reader, Emilysanswers United Kingdom +, writes (8 February 2009):

This is one of the worst things that can happen to a girl at your age. She was scared, alone, confused and upset, and you made a joke.

No wonder she blew up in your face.

What she needs is support, friendship and HELPFUL advice on what to do, whether to keep it, and how to do all the things she decides to do.

Go and apologise and tell her that you are there for her and want to help her however you can.

Why not take her to the family planning clinic in your area. Hold her hand and help her talk to the nurse about what options she has open to her.

There are plenty of places that offer counselling and help for girls like her. Find her some numbers and go down with her to see people.

Good Luck!! xx

If you don't get why she's acting like this, then you are obviously not exactly the greatest friend. What you said was completely inappropriate, hateful and cruel. I know it's family guy, it's funny, but what a thing to say to your friend when she's pregnant, alone and scared!

You owe her a major apology and some space for her to chill.
