Hi there

Carving your name into his arm may signal some sort of issue on his part...are you sure you want to get involved with a boy like that?

For him to do that to your friend, should be hurtful for you as well. I know you may like him, but if you start going out with him, you will surely lose your friend, which may be a much longer relationship.

My advice is to have both of you ditch the guy and move on. Once a cheater, always a cheater. The same thing may happen to you if you begin dating him, he'll find another girl.

Erm I think two different things about this - 1. If this boy is going to dump your friend for you then you have to be sure that you actually want this relationship- also consider your best friend's feelings - usually relationships do not last long - but friends are always there for you - think carefully about this - good luck x

bubbloo24 agony auntRight:

- If you go out with this guy, you lose you best friend automatically.

-If you go out with him, the entirety of the relationship will be that you will think that he still likes your best friend and she will probably try to get him back to get revenge on you and due to this:

- You will break up, you will have no best friend and you'll wonder why the hell you went out with him.

You will become a very unhappy person indeed if you go out with him, and you know what you have to do. If it was you who was going out with this boy, and he carved your best friend's name into his arm and was thinking about breaking up with you only to go out with her, how would you feel about this? Would you take you back as a best friend?

How do you know that he won't do exactly the same thing to you as he did to your best friend?

Don't you think you should be angry at him for planning to hurt your best friend? If it wasn't you he liked but some other girl and he was going out with your best friend, you'd be angry at him wouldn't you? But because it's you he likes it's a completely different story? wrong.

Do what you know is right - tell your best friend the truth about his plans and both of you should stick together and ditch him. By going out with this guy you're just heading for a fall. If she doesn't believe you then so be it and she can find out for herself but your best friend needs you right now. She needs the truth.

I'm sorry that I've had to be blantant but from someone who's seen it happen to their friends one too many times, you need to realise what could happen.

Take care xx
