While driving, I realized I would be going back and forth, so I ended up picking Jane up first and then getting Mary. We were still on time, but when we got Mary, she was MAD! When she came to the car, I said, "Change of plans" and she said, "No kidding! It would have been nice to have known about this!" I tried to explain that instead of driving back and forth, it was easier to pick everyone up in order according to distance. (Jane is the half-way point and Mary is the furthest.) And what was suppose to be a "fun" evening, turned awkward. Eventually by the end of the night, Mary apologized for her attitude. I was still just so stunned that something so minor seemed so upsetting to her. She wasn't haven't a bad day and we weren't late, it just seemed like her outburst came from out of nowhere. Was this my fault for not letting her know about the "order" of who was being picked up? I'm just so confused right now. Reply to this Question Share |

You're the driver. Don't take crap from passengers, because it can get you angry, and then you might be in an accident if you're thinking about what your passenger has said, and not focusing on the road. If they don't like how you drive, or your plan, then they can walk. Be tough.

So you live the farthest away yet have to not only do all the driving but be everyone's taxi when you get into town? My friends and I meet halfway when we get together. If I drive 45 min to see one of them, which I sometimes do, they usually take me out to dinner or something and vice versa. Real friends don't take advantage of you like this and they don't walk all over you with their complaints and demands. Did they even offer you gas money? WOW, get a backbone.
