writes:my breasts are very lopsided and it has effected me my entire life. i only dream of surgery but cant afford it.someday i will. i have found a bra that wrks for me and surprisingly egnough i get them at victoria secret. its called the very sexy extreme push up convertable bra. it has gel inserts that i remove on one side and double up on the other. its great because my biggest fear is that other people will notice. my husband seems to be fine with it and has never once made fun of me or made me feel ashamed. i was wondering though if anyone has anyother ideas when it comes to a bathing suit. i refuse to wear one because u can totally tell and it is very obvious. is there a bathing suit that is specifically designed for this sort of thing?

reader, anonymous, writes (1 March 2011): Is there any way you can find a bathing suit that you could wear that bra with? Obviously a string bikini would not be the best choice, but perhaps a one piece that could adequately cover the bra too? If you wanted to go the bikini route, there are still bikini tops that are shaped more like a sports bra, or a tube top.
Perhaps you could fashion your own top in this way. You could buy that bra in the desired color, and a tube top style bathing suit in the same color, and then proceed to sew the tube top to the bra and no one would be wise to it! You could even get creative with it and sew extra pieces to it, like if there is too much cleavage for your taste, you could sew mesh in the middle part, or another piece of fabric that you fancy. Guaranteed you will have a one of a kind bathing suit and you just might recieve compliments on it!
You could essentially do this with a sports bra top or whatever top you desire, save for the string bikini top.
Also, there are bathing suit tops that have those built in pockets with the foam inserts. Is there any way you can take the foam inserts out and instead put the gel ones in? You could sew them in to make them stay put.
If you cant sew, or feel you wouldnt do a good job, perhaps a tailor/seamstress could do this for you? You could even have them fashion a bathing suit designed specifically with your needs in mind.
Good luck and try not to feel ashamed of yourself. Your husband doesnt seem to mind, so dont worry overmuch what others think. Feel proud of who you are, afterall there is only one of "you" out there!
