Question - (29 November 2010) 2 Answers - (Newest, 30 November 2010)
A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I really need some advice about my LDR. My bf is coming back for a month at xmas (he works in south America and i live in the UK) but only wants to see me for about a week. I don't want to be unreasonable cos I know he has to see his friends and family too but I'm upset that he doesn't want to see me for longer, as it'll be another five months until I see him again. I care about him so much and i don't want it to end but at the moment i feel like i don't matter to him.

am I being unreasonable by wanting him to see me for longer? has anybody else been in a similar position?

tennisstar88 agony auntAre we talking a week straight? I think he could take on another week in order to be fair. But you also have to compromise with time spent with his friends and family. Just ask if he would possibly add on a another week or half of a week..Tell him you would like to see him a little more than a week especially if he's going to be gone for 5 months. However, if he says "no" then you'll have to take what you can get. That's the price you pay for being in a LDR.

You are not being unreasonable at all. He should want to see you more. my girlfriend just got back from California and I feel like i should be with her for almost every minute. I would say, just tell him how you feel but before you say anything try to understand where he is coming from. Best of luck!
