A reader, anonymous, writes (25 August 2009):

Its a bit hard in Trinidad because there is a larger ratio of women to men. I've found that both men and women tend to be picky as well. I know a lot of people who have met the one they love in their late 30's as well, only by taking a chance when the opportunity arises. If things aren't working out for you, then you could either play it cool, or change something about yourself.

Best of luck to ya.

Danielepew agony auntI see you live in Trinidad and Tobago. Though all the people are the same, and that means we usually have similar dating habits, I am not sure what would happen there.

Where I live, your chances of finding a single guy would not be that high. You could find a single guy, but only with great difficulty would you find one who's never been married and has had no children. If you didn't want such a guy, then you would most likely have to settle for an older man. Who would have grandchildren, maybe :-).

But, don't be that pessimistic. Sometimes good things do happen.
