A male reader, anonymous, writes (27 November 2007):

Let me tell you something my good man, all that shit about meeting someone in due time is a load of rubbish. I am 42 and I have never had a girl friend and I was being told the same thing at eighteen you were. The sad fact of the matter is it might seem like a lot of time to go, but it is not. Next thing you know your 25 and you have never had a girlfriend, then your thirty, next your forty and all the time it gets worse. You get older and next its become a way of life, women pick up on it and you are done, because women don't want a geeser at forty with fading youth and no experience. Do now what I should have done, get pro active now about the whole situation. If your uncomfortable with women, then get comfortable, if your shy, then start talking to them and and get unshy, but do not leave it any longer, because the longer you do, the worse the problem until you find out its to late. I am single now and will be for the rest of my life, no wife, no family, no nothing in that department, if thats what you want, carry on the way your going, if not, refer to my suggestion above.

Andy00 agony auntFor what it's worth, I know plenty of guys in your situation. It's normal. You will find somebody in due time, but in the mean time, enjoy your life! Go out with friends, ect. In doing this, you are bound to find somebody down that road.

Best of luck!

kenny agony auntI don't think you have got anything to be concerned about here atal. You are only 18, you have got all the time in the world to meet someone. The worst thing you can do is get desperate to meet a girl. Just relax, take things in your stride, go out have fun with friends. Im a great believer that we meet the person of our deams when we least expect it.

Good luck
