Pretty much, once you have them there's no way to rid them. They are permanent. Most you can do is buy some cocoa butter and put it on the other prone areas on your body that haven't developed them yet.

Stretch marks can develop on any skin type, on people of all shapes and sizes. Some people are blessed with skin that holds more moisture, making their skin more elastic - others aren't blessed in this way, so we have to add moisture to our skin. Try moisturing the areas where the stretch marks are appearing to try and prevent anymore from appearing. If you visit a good chemist, like Boots and ask the pharmacist if they could recommend a good cream for you.Good luck.

I can't say whether all fat people get stretch marks, and i don't know why they are growing next to your belly button.
But what i can suggest is there is a product called bio oil containing a breakthrough ingredient called purcellin, massage this into your stretch marks. Also Palmers cocoa butter containing vitimin E is also meant to be very good.
Hope this helps.
