I've always had it now and then, but lately it seems like after a day, the crotch of my panties are lined with it!It's thick and white with just the slightest yellow tint. It's also causing a particularly strong odor. I don't know how to describe it... I wouldn't really say it's "fishy" but its unpleasant. I haven't had any kind of pain, itch, or discomfort. I haven't been sexually active in a few weeks.I don't have insurance, so my policy is I don't go to the doctor unless it's life threatening.Any ideas? Should I be concerned?

Sounds like a yeast infection to me though, in which case, the yogurt treatment would be most helpful, though it wouldn't if you had both a vaginal and a yeast. I just saw this ad on TV that promoted a kit that diagnosis whether you have a vaginal infection or not, check your drug store for a similar product, I think it was by Vagasil.

The Yoghurt advice from DOG is also a good idea too (as part of your regular diet to help things stay healthy for the future, but don't just use any old yoghurt - you need to get the "live" kind that has the "good" bacteria in it (sorry, I can't recall the name of the bacteria). There are also daily yoghurt drinks containing the same stuff that you can get from most supermarkets that are reasonably cheap too. I think the way that they work through us all having a type of "good" bacteria in our guts that keeps everything moving and healthy and this helps it to flourish and lessens the chances of the "bad" bacteria getting a chance to take over.
Hope you get help and feel better soon xxx

sounds like a yeast infection. They can clear up on their on usually when your period begins. You can buy a non-prescription antifungal medication from a store. Avoid escessive cleaning in the infected area. Wash once a day w/plain water or mild non perfumed soap. Don't use tampons. Don't have sexual intercourse until your symptoms go away. To prevent another infection: Don't wear tight fitting pants and wear cotton panel underwear and eat yogurt. Always wipe from front to back after using the toliet. Hope this helps.

It could also be due to over lucrative glands, that promote lube for sexual intercorse.
We are not doctors, so we can not give you an accurate assessment, only our opinions.
The best thing to do is go to your nearest STD clinic, as many of them are charge free, and have some tests done.

I hate to play the guessing game here; but it sounds like vaginal thrush, meaning a fungal infection; it is likely to devlop after taking antibiotics, or sometimes when taking the contraceptive pill.
I SUGGEST: Contact a doctor, if you cannot afford one, contact your local health care clinic.

Hi, sorry to hear about your lack of insurance keeping you from seeing a doctor. You might be able to find a low-cost health care provider through this website.
www.plannedparenthood.org
There is a search tool where you type in your zip code to find a local clinic, or you can follow the links provided to speak to staff at your local planned parenthood office.
I also pulled up this webpage for you, but I have to caution you that you should not self-diagnose this if you have not had this before. You really do need to see a doctor.http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/womens-health/yeast-infection-vaginitis-19854.htm
Take care, hope this helps you get the medical attention you need.
