When your talking to a guy and he puts his arm around your shoulders and pull you closer to him (so that your head is resting on his shoulder) or when he pats you on the shoulder ... Is that a friendly gesture?

He could be being friendly. I have male friends who put their arms round me and it means nothing (although they are normally carrying my home from the pub at the time.)

It could also mean he likes you, but if he didn't kiss you or ask you out then it's probably just friendly.

Yeah,thats definitely friendly/benevolent in nature. Also, it could be that he likes you. Would kind of need more information to determine.
