I didnt see my partner for 6 weeks and then slept with her 2 days before her period was due and then 5 days later she said she was being sick in the mornings and thought she was pregnant.she says she done a test 9 days after the suppossed conception and got a positeve result. Is it possible to suffer morning sickness that early and is it possible to concieve 2 days before your period is due. I have a feeling that she is lying to me as I find it all a bit hard to believe. I did use protection but it split so I did used the withdrawal method then. please can you advise me.

It is VERY possible to conceive 2 days before your period is due! I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant and my husband and I conceived our little guy possibly even on the day my period was due. It is most common to ovulate around day 14-16 of your cycle.. but it doesn't always work out like that! Little things, like added stress or a change in diet or sleep, can cause you to have late ovulation and/or menstrual cycle.

As far as morning sickness goes, I would say it's possible... but not that probable. I've known women who get symptoms very soon after conception because their hormones do start kicking in quickly. This is actually more common in pregnancies that involve multiples because the hormones are stronger.. sooo.. good luck there! ;-) 4-6 weeks is a more common time for morning sickness to begin.. but all our bodies handle pregnancy differently.

Tell her to schedule an ob/gyn appt for as soon as they will see her and make sure to go with. They will be able to date the fetus. My husband and I knew we conceived late.. didn't tell the Dr.. and he said according to the ultrasound that the baby was 6 weeks and not 8 weeks (my typical cycle would of put us at 8 weeks). He picked it up easily. Early in pregnancy these dates are quiet accurate.. and you should be able to tell about when it was conceived. 2 weeks makes a big difference when a embryo is only a few weeks old.

Ask to do another test with her and make sure you actually see the result. If she doesn't let you, well, that's your answer.

Symptoms of pregnancy don't usually start until around 3-5 weeks so if she is prenant then the baby was not concieved on the occasion that you have mentioned.

pashanoodle agony auntIt is not common for a woman to ovulate that close to menstruating - but it can happen, her cycle may be 'out' for any number of reasons. She could also get a positive test quite early on - lots of the home testing kits can now detect pregnancy hormones very soon after conception.

It sounds to me like you might be looking for 'answers' to tell you there is the chance this baby isn't yours?? The only way you will be able to know that is to have a paternity test done once bub arrives!

Ah! The good ol' withdrawal method! Never fails. I got caught out that way too.

Basically, unless she's a wicked person, you'd better believe it and start planning for the future. Fatherhood isn't that bad and in a few years time you can play football with him, or if it's a girl you can start putting some cash away for her wedding!

This sounds very odd indeed..... a womans most fertile period is during the middle of her cycle not 2 days before her period. It takes approximately 1 week after fertilisation to occur before the ovuum is in the womb and before the body gets the signal that it is pregnant. Suggest you have an ultrasound scan done and ask the doctor if he/she can tell you approx the date of the conception. Something sounds a bit odd about this one...sorry!

Yep, a woman is at her most fertile just before her period as that is when the lining in her womb is at it's most full.

If you had unprotected sex with her (because the condom split) then she could be pregnant. The withdrawal method is not full proof, other wise the birth rate would not have dropped so much when the pill was invented back in the 60s. You should really have gone to a chemist and got the morning after pill.

If she's done a test and that has said she is pregnant then she is pretty much pregnant. Sorry.

Since you found out so early on you still have lots of options open to you like a chemical abortion (basically a really strong morning after pill)

Other than that, you are going to be a dad. Congratulations.

Good Luck!! xx
