 Unless you're inserting something and feel sore afterwards, I don't think it's possible to do any harm by masturbation, no matter how often you do it.
I know some fellows who were at it six or more times a *day*, every day in their teens, with no ill effects. I also know of girls who managed five goes in a 24-hour period on a regular basis. So, no, unless it's preventing you doing something important (like leaving a burning house!) don't worry about it.

I and most of my friends did it about three times a day in our teens. I am pretty old now (59) and still often do it three times a day, then dont do it for days or weeks. Just enjoy it and stop worrying is my advice.

 Maybe you're being a little too vigorous on a delicate area, but no, 5-8 times is not over masturbating. They do say that the more time you wait in between any sexual activity can increase or highten the climax, but as most things, there's no guarantee it's the same for everyone. Why not have a week off or reduce the number of times, to see if it does make a difference?
