writes:I've been attracted to my cousin for as long as I can remember. She is the only female cousin I know of, and on my mother's side of the family, she is the only girl. At least in my generation. I didn't think nothing of it when I was younger because I was younger and did not know what to think of it. I mean she's beautiful, why wouldn't any guy feel that way but she's my cousin.We have only been around each other for more than a few hours and very few occasions and on every single one of those times I have been filled with so much lust towards her. I've fantasized for years about her but never acted on it, she's my cousin, family, and I love her a lot. Sometimes I think that's why butis it normal to feel this way about a cousin?

To KC12. Just assuming that it says "'a female reader" you are indeed a female. And your response to his question, as society and the "norm" goes, a spot on answer. Many people have "taboo"!or deviant fantasy, but would never act. No respone necessary but at any point in your life you have never fantasized about sonething "forbidden", like a famiky member?Forums are good in that way, where when we dont know if we are "Normal", we can usually get honest answers because of anonymity. To the OP, i think it's definitely normal. Especially if she was around during the time hour hormones were raging. The maddening part, even if you wouldnt think this in a million years, she most likely fantasized about you too.

 It's not surprising that a young, hormone-gushing guy would feel that way about ANY hot babe..... It's only an interesting coincidence that she is your cousin.... Tho' it does put an extra layer of "taboo" on your thoughts (as you've expressed herein...)
Relegate her to your "off-limits" group, and get on with your life....

 I do not consider this normal at all. It's one thing to say how pretty she is, and love her as family...but you used the word "lust." that is not normal for a blood relative.
I'm going to give you the same advice I'd given to someone in a similar situation: You should get out into this world a little bit more. Branch out and do fun things! There is a whole world of beautiful, young women out there who are not related to you.
Regard your cousin as a platonic friend, and move on. Go out and get involved in activities you enjoy...and maybe you'll find someone even more beautiful than your cousin. :)
