Now that I think about it this is a very very serious question. If you're so worried about how she will react to a compliment there are some serious emotional and behavioral issues going on with you.For instance; What if I told you I liked the color of your socks? How would you react?If it were someone else I'd predict a normal reaction. Maybe a quick glance down and a, "Gee, thanks. They are a neat color aren't they?" But after hearing your question about such a mundane and common snippet of conversation, just a pleasant compliment given on a date, now I'm imagining all manor of reactions from you. If I complimented your socks you could; 1) Start crying and telling me to leave you alone. 2) Raise your hands and shout, "God, oh thank God, someone has FINALLY noticed!" 3) Drop to the floor, curl into a fetal position and suck your thumb until carted away to the local looney bin. or even 4) Whip out your .357 magnum and blow a hole through my chest, making me the first victim in your multi-state killing spree.But, chances are, if I like your socks I really wouldn't think of any of those things. I'd just share with you that I like your socks and leave the reaction up to you, trusting that you'd take it like a normal human being, just as it's meant, as a snippet of conversation, and a compliment.Don't sweat it.
