 Ok try not to over think this, there isnt much difference between a date and friends meeting up, unless you see this as a start for you and him to get back together. If that is the case then maybe do a little light flirting but dont come on to strong and dont kiss or have sex with him unless you are both back together, if he trys anything on with you then ask him can he see the both of you getting back together and that you would rather take things slow.
Just remember all the reasons that you both broke up in the first place and be sure that you can both resolve them before you start dating again.
