 It means there's trouble on the horizon. At the very least he may just be getting involved in a bit of harmless flirting or at worse he is looking or has found someone to have an affair/casual sex with.
The lesser of the two evils is still a betrayal of your trust. Why does he do this? Have you confronted him about this?
You need to get him to explain himself.
