Is a break-up my only option?

Question - (10 January 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 10 January 2008)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Alright so....me and my boyfriend have been dating for just over 6 months. It went great at first, however we broke up about 2 weeks ago and got back together like a week later. Now for some reason....its like hes constantly mad. Hes also very distant and doesnt want to talk very much. He blew off a date with me and when he does talk he usually gets angry. Now i do understand he has a life with school and all but I just think he could give a little more than one word answers and should control his anger. Yes we have had a bit of a bumpy road a few times where we broke up for like a day, but its weird because we never could go to bed angry at each other. He says he still loves me but i have the feeling hes just saying that. Its his birthday soon and hes having a few friends over. He asked me if i could come, but I ended up having plans that day so I said i wouldnt. He made a fuss about it so I just said "Do you really want me there?" and he replied with a No and then didnt talk to me for the rest of the day. Does anyone have an explaination for why he might be acting this way, or any advice on what I should do?

Laura1318 agony auntHe was piqued, he expected you to come but he saw your reluctance and he answered in the negative. He sulked the whole day and did not want to talk to you.

When you go to bed, another form of communications take over, the animal kind that does'nt need to talk.

Wait until he is done with the sulking, it may take days then he will come back to you.
