writes:I'm wondering how to go about making new girlfriends.I'm a 24 year old girl, and have been with my boyfriend for almost 6 years now. I have always had trouble making new girl friends, but have never had any trouble with male friend. I moved away from my home town to be with my man over 4 years ago, and left behind the few girls that I was freinds with from school.I now have a wonderful life - own a house with my partner, a dog, and have a great career. But I can't help but get so jealous when I see or hear about my old friends having fun with the girls. I seem to be longing to a girls night out, or even a couple of girlfriends to go for walks with. I have made one female friend here since I moved, and she is wonderful. But I don't want to be so needy and see her every weekend and scare her away.I work in a male dominated environment so can't meet girls through my work. I have joined communities and groups in my area, and have met some wonderful people but they are all much older than me (in their 40's and 50's).Are there many girls out there that just don't have good female freinds? I'm very friendly but tend to get really shy around ladies. My biggest fear is if I ever get engaged to me partenr, I wouldn't have a bridesmaid, let alone a hens night. It's a fear that is starting to get me down the more I think about it, as my boyfriend (who is 34, feels he is not far off from wanting to really settle down).Mmmmm what to do? I know that I'm a neat person, and almost regret sometimes ever moving away from those old friends (who, mind you, have not called me since I moved).Thank for your time - (P.S) Any girls wanting new friends in New Zealand I'd love to hear from you!!
