hi everyone, ive recently moved to a new area, 160 miles from my home town, for a job.

the contract was only for a year and i didnt know anyone here, but a job's a job so i took it. been here for 6 months now and i really like my job and the people i work with. my boss has offered me a permanent job there, and would effectively more than double my salary, which is great and really flattering. i will probably take the job, but the problem is i dont really have much of a in this town. where as i do back in my home city.

im single, and have been single pretty much all my life, so cant make friends through a girlfriend and that, and im the youngest person at work by about 20 years, so its difficult to make friends at work.

ive just started playing rugby again so hoping to make friends there, my question is, are there any other ways you guys can think of to make new friends or even meet women?

im not really a big fan of going to a pub or club by myself as i dont wanna turn into the creepy old man in the corner lol.

any ideas are welcome thanks

If you're a rugby player you're already an athletic guy of a certain size and fitness. Join a local gym, keep up with your workouts and see what develops with the women who also go there.

angelDlite agony auntits hard when you are the baby of the work place and all the others are years older than you, but you might get the odd night out with them. i would think you could make friends with the lads at rugby once they get to know you, join any other clubs in the area or take a course so you can meet like minded people, try dating sites, i have heard of a friendship site called meet up where you join and get to meet up with people in your area and go on trips, do hobbies together and stuff. you can still go to your hometown and have some social time with your friends and they could maybe come and stay with you sometimes. probably a pretty short train journey
