 Hi!
I was in a long distance relationship for 2 years, and me and my partner met over a chatroom and met up on many different occaisions. At the time I was 17 and she was 16. We had decided to give the relationship a go a few months before we first met face to face. Meeting eachother was very scary! But good scary. The first time we met up, we didn't even discuss Sex. Both being virgins, we decided it was something we should avoid to begin with, so we didn't "Rush into it" so to speak.
We were together that first time for 6 days, and while we didn't have Sex, by the end of the 2nd day, I had already put my hand down the front of her trousers! Which we both joked about afterwards. By the end of that week, we had already been naked together and explored eachothers bodies, but kept our vow of not having Sex.
So, if you both like eachother a lot, there will be tension at certain points, so I would say it is definately normal. Tension is almost inevitable, but you both get to decide whether you have Sex or not.

 Yes, it's normal to be feeling that way, but bear in mind that the image of this person you have in your head is a fantasy. The problem with getting to know people on the internet is that they can say what they want and lead you to believe they're somebody they're not. So, be very careful. Whether male or female you should always first meet in a public place and let a friend know where you are.
Meeting people off the internet is a great way to make new friends and sometimes find a partner, but remember that a lot of people on there are only looking for sex or have other hidden agendas. Don't be a victim. Make sure you really know this person before you let the relationship develop. Apart from anything else you need to be extremely aware of stds.
Having said all that: I hope you enjoy your date!
