I'm bored but want to save the relationship

I know I'm young and naieve but I think my relation ship is serious. I've had relationships in the past where I have gotten bored so i left. I am now bored in my current relationship but my boyfriend doesn't know i feel this way. Should i tell him? I love this one and don't want to leave. I need to do something that will spice things up but not just for a day or two and also won't change his opinion about me. What should i do? I tried telling him that maybe he should stop visiting so often but I think he took it the wrong way because he got upset. Was that a mistake?
