Say this:

Your'e just mad because you have to go back to playschool.

Or if there's people around you say this to the bully:

He's just relived because he's grown his own dick.

you should say, "takes one to know one." and if that doesn't work you should kick em in the nuts and say "who is the person with no balls now!"

A male reader, anonymous, writes (6 November 2008):

Something interesting I noticed about people who verbally abuse other people, is that it is often for entertainment value. Maybe it has become less about ridiculing you and more about getting a laugh from everyone else. I don't know, I'm not there. The entertainment could come from a combination of your reaction to what is being said and what is being said in general. If this is the case, just ignore it. I know that this sounds like I'm telling to ignore it and it will go away, not true. Think of it as harmlessly diffusing the situaion. Like a covert operation within the grand scheme of some asanine war.

Read a book, ignore what is being said and hopefully they'll just get bored. Teasing people without getting a response is no fun.

And if this doesn't work, you can solve your problems with good old fashioned violence! Hells yeah!

Yeah, I was a bit frivolous back there, bullying is dead serious.

Try to remember that the old adage that bullies are cowards is absolutely true.

You may think that talking to your parents or teacher will make the problem worse, but since bullies are cowards, they tend to get scared easily when confronted by someone whom they can't bully back.

A female reader, happytochat Australia +, writes (6 November 2008):

I dont think you should insult these bullies back,- that would be stooping to their level. You dont wanna do that, you are more then that. And if you were to get down to their level, it would make you appear just as guilty to teachers at school.

I do however, believe you should be assertive and defend yourself.

Bullying is never ok and I can only imainge how you must be feeling. You need to talk to a trusted adult about this, such as a parent, older sibling, family friend, teacher, school counsellor etc. I think you need to report it to someone at your school because they will deal with it and make it stop.

Sometimes kids are scared about telling their teachers in fear that will cause them to get picked on more, but trust me, if you dont tell a teacher, it will only continue and maybe get worst. So you have nothing to lose by telling a teacerh, only to gain.

Talking to a school counsellor will also help you deal with whats going on.

A female reader, xxhoplesslyhisxx United States +, writes (5 November 2008):

well i think the best way to confront a bully is to either ignore them

1. you should ignore them because bullies are usually just insecure and it makes themselves feel better to put people down. and to see u angry or hurt just fuels them to keep doing it.. dont let it bother you

please tell me how everything works out or i can help u in any other way

goodluck =)

Reminds me of son at about age 10. He came home all upset because some other kid was taking the mickey out of his surname, so I asked what this other kid's name was. The answer? John Thomas.

I couldn't believe my boy's luck.....

SirenaBlusera agony auntIs this happening at school?

You need to go to the school authorities and tell them what is happening. Bullying shouldn't be tolerated, and the school authorities need to put a stop to it.
