A female reader, anonymous, writes (4 November 2007):

I have been there and done that. I had a guy that treated me like a princess. Always doing things for me and never failed to show me how much he loved me. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like I loved him as much and finally ended it after 8 years of being together. I realised later that it was a big mistake, I had just grown bored with the relationship and looking back now, I wished I had just made more effort to get the spark back. I took him for granted and have now realised that having a guy who worships you is one of the greatest things you will ever have so think about your decision, the grass is not always greener on the other side speaking from experience
