A male reader, Collaroy Australia +, writes (16 January 2008):

Collaroy agony auntWhat do you enjoy doing? Whatever it is join some sort of club which has activities during the day. Or look to see what's on offer from your local council for young mothers. You won't be the only person in this situation, so have a look at your local paper and see what's going on in your local area.

I think your best bet is to meet up with other mothers in your area , you live in Manchester which is a big city so there will be plenty on offer. Your local library would be a good start!

You are still soooo young with a heavy load of responsibility. You can do so much more with your life.

How about going to mother and toddler groups with your youngest child whilst the other is at school. You could talk to the local health visitor about places to meet other mums. Try friends reunited and see if you could meet up with people from your school to catch up. You could visit cousins or family friends. Join a gym, Get your parents or partner to watch the children once a week and take the time to do window shopping or real shopping. Get your nails done, get a massage. I think you should take small steps to work on your self esteem and when you are happy in yourself try doing some of the other things I have suggested. Remember life doesnt have to stop just because you are a mum. Maybe you and your partner could also spend some quality time together. Oh yea..try www.netmums.com that is a good site. Good luck
