Okay. So I am 33 years old and have never been in a serious relationship. I feel like most men my age would not want to be with someone who has so little experience. I think I'm a great catch. I am a little overweight which tends to hold me back but I am working on that. I guess my question is, do you think I am doomed to be an old maid?

Nothing to worry about I am almost 31 and I have not been in a serious relationship as well, I agree with the above comment, I feel like the clock is ticking and I want to try to find a woman who doesn't have an ex-husband, kids, etc. in the picture. I am also self-conscious about my weight and I am trying to get in shape as well as my life in general. I just want to get my ducks in the proverbial row before getting involved in a serious relationship, I want to be able to focus on her and not the outside things that are going to distract me.

there are men out there who would be bothered by your 'inexperience' but there are also a lot of other men who would prefer to have a woman like you. you don't have any ex-problems or kids from previous relationships so that's definitely a plus for someone who wants to start a relationship....so don't let the relationship inexperience hinder you. I know a girl who had her first relationship at the age of 31 years old...before that she had never been in a relationship. she is now about to be married (she's 32 now) good luck

Your inexperience is NOT going to be seen as a downside for a lot of men out there!

Why would it be? I know that women commonly think this way, but why? Is it because they feel this way about men?

If we men wanted "experienced" women, there are plenty of them out there. Only people describle them with words like "slut" and "ho" and it's not a flattering rep to have. We tend to like these women a lot better as temporary playthings than as life partner material.

The only reason that the average man would have a problem with it (that is IF he does) is because he doesn't want the pressure of being your first. He is concerned about the emotional attachment that might bring, etc.

But him not wanting to feel pressured to deliver a great first BF experience for you, is a very different thing than him not thinking you are good enough to bother with. It's closer to the opposite feeling than the same one.

Just don't view this as a problem, and most guys won't view it as a problem either. Some will really prefer it this way.
