Dear cupid,

We are a gothic couple

that has been together for 8 years and just engaged! Problem is when I met him he use to color his hair black, and be really into his "look." Now he is not and has not been in a couple of years. I personally think that this is false advertising. I compaire it to when men complain about their wives gaining weight.

I would like my man to color his hair again and keep up with his gothic look. I have mentioned it to him and he just makes up an excuse that he does not want to go bald etc etc. I still keep up with my hair and gothic look and I thought the man of my dreams would do the same! So I ask you cupid, what is happening here??

Thanks!

TasteofIndia agony auntHey sweetness,

Did you marry him for his "look"? Because there are plenty of men out there who are rocking the 'Goth' look, and who I'm sure would be happy to marry you. Since you're in love with this guy, don't you want to marry him for HIM? Surely you're not just marrying him for the hair dye and the clothes, but rather the man underneath?

Just a thought....

What happens here is that he has matured. For the love of God woman (or whomever you love) you are in your thirties! Gothic looks are for rebelious teenagres who feel they are always misunderstood. I say learn from him and lose the dog collars for once and for all and try to develop your own original personality.

What's happening? Sounds like he has grown tired of the 'Goth look', hun. Change is a part of the human condition. You are acting as if it is unexpected and something is wrong with him, but it is a reality. Life goes on and some people like to try new things. You have to decide if his 'new look' is something you can tolerate and whether you can still love him, irregardless. I sure hope you can keep loving him, because one shouldn't base their future happiness on a loved one's change in hair color.
