A female United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Ive been seeing a man for 4 months after he asked me out and we truly get on amazing. He has lots of issues with his ex (they split a year ago) and he has had a rough time since it ended as they have young children together. He admits his head is in a pickle but also says he adores me, wants to be with me etc. I have told him that he needs to sort himself out before we can/if become a proper exclusive couple as everything is just too messy and told him to take some time to reflect and mend. Have I done the right thing, I think the world of him. I dont think I should contact him, if he wants me he will surely come find me???

betty_black agony auntOf course you have done the right thing, its much better he sorts his head out and adjusts to whats gone on than just jumping into another relationship with someone else while still messed up. It isnt fair on you! And yes, youre right not to contact him, im sure he'll do the contacting when hes fine and ready.
