Dont think about popularity here, he's obviously making effort and is taking time to prove to you he likees you, start doing the same, talk to him more, see where things end up, good luck :) xxx

 Yeah, he probably likes you. But I don't think he's a stalker. Feel free to brand him a stalker when he starts following you home and popping up in random places you happen to go. But for now just enjoy the fact that you probably have an admirer. If you feel like going anywhere with it, then start talking to him and engage him.
