writes:Please tell me why it is when a woman tells a man she loves him even if its in the early stages-he then dumps her? I can understand him getting scared but who has said anyone can make him move in marry heror be exclusive etc -no one can make them do anything so why cant they jsut be happy someone loves them? I am very happy if someone loves me even if I dont love them - its a compliment surely??

 Telling someone that early on can be scary. It's something that one needs to build up to. Guys like to enjoy the new relationship for a long time before they're ready to express that kind of strong emotion. He probably felt like you were already planning out getting married...

I know personally, if a man tells me "I love you" too soon in the relationship, it scares me. Why? Because love takes time....you can't tell if you love someone early on, it's only after you've been with someone for a while that you can say this from an informed stand-point. Are you perhaps confusing lust with love?
