The past few partners Ive had wanted me on top...I dont like that position very much because I end up doing most of the work and they rather not have too much variety of positions..For some women is the best position to stimulate the G-spot and have control of how much you can insert in you specially if the guy is large. Im usually the one who guides and like to mix it up the positions so it doesnt get boring. Try it all as long as you dont hurt yourself...There is only one life and we got to enjoy every bit of it...Have fun with it!

 Getting on top, often called woman-on-top or cowgirl style, is really not difficult at all. Although I'm a man, I've been a partner in this position an unknown number of times in the last 45 years or so. In fact, it was always a favorite for myself and a number of partners. As I recall, in the earliest times we simply "rolled-over" and thereby switched positions while trying to maintain insertion, which was often a bit clumsy during the rolling over part. As a partner, I learned that the switch was a bit easier if we straightened our legs first, closely embraced, then rolled over while maintaining penetration.
Easier, perhaps, is for the man to simply pull-out and flop onto his back. The woman then simply straddles his hips, and while keeping her torso fairly erect, she can easily guide reinsertion. Or the man can guide insertion if preferred. After penetration, the woman is then free to take over control to a large degree - pace, angle of penetration, etcetera.
Her knees are typically at his sides about at his waist or a bit higher. She can lean forward so the partners are closely embraced, or sit upright, turn around or even straddle almost sideways - which is more advanced. To keep it simple at first, lean forward and hump while the man thrusts upward. It will soon come quite naturally, and usually becomes a favorite for most couples. Additionally, your man would probably be thrilled to be the first to offer this great sex position for your enjoyment. You should not be embarrassed at all - just enjoy it and let him teach you more.

p.s. try new things like standing up splits and doing it in bathrooms and in strange places for fun
