 Maybe start by buying her a pair you find sexy ( and be modest when you buy some - ok don't go for tiny open crotch g-strings if she is a white cotton panty girl.) They can always get smaller and smaller. Or you could go wit ha cute bra-panty set. Heck take her to Victoria's Secret and browse, tell her how fantastic you think she would look in this and that.. If she responds positively ask her if you can buy her a pair. If she seems embarrassed BACK off.
Why do women wear the panties they wear.. Hmm cotton cause they are comfy and you are wearing something where people can see the panty-line. G-strings - you are wearing something where you absolutely don't want panty-line showing or you want someone to see what you are barely wearing. Some you wear because they match your bra. Some you wear because you know that your loved one will go nuts when they find out :)

i think it depends on how sexual a girl is and what her personality is like. i like to wear sexy undies when i am out or with a guy, but when i am at home on my own i wear the comfort stuff. when i wear a posh dress and know i am not going to be going home with someone, i wear the spanks to make my silouhette nice.
but then one of my friends is a virgin and has never been with a guy at all, and she always buys plain "comfortable" underwear, she is also a very shy unconfident person. so that's why i think it has to do with sexuality and personality.

The issue might be deeper than just fashion. How long have you been dating? How sexually active are you? It is difficult to figure out how to change if we do not know really what is the problem.
I can tell you that some girls like sexy underwear and some don't. Some girls wear high heels, some wear sneakers. Some girls are reserved and quiet, some girls are loud and sexual.
It may just be her style, so you need to respect her feelings. She isn't entitled to do you any favors. Perhaps you should just ask her if there is a reason why she doesn't like "sexier" underwear. Maybe she finds it uncomfortable having a strap up her crack.
Be respectful but be clear.

well i wear thongs most the time caz my guy loves it. but ye just hint to her, like when u guys are holding each other to make out play with the top of her pants at the back and ask what color. and at one point say ud look so hot in a thong or somthing and she'll get the hint but if doesnt really do anything about it then im guessing she doesnt really care or doesnt wana please u. but i love seeing the look on my guys face when my pants get alittle too low (i do it on purpose) and he sees what ive got on lol

Maybe just play with the edge of her pants like, where the belt loops are, make sure your touching her skin though and ask her what kind or color she has on today.
