A male United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I am really nervous bout tonight. I have a friend comming over for a nice dinner and a move.this is a big thing, because she lives bout an hour from me. At first i didnt think anything bout it, just two friends having dinner and a movie. I joked on the phone the other to her, that its a good thing its not a date, because usually women only date me once then go running in the opposite direction. She told me but it is a date. That is what got me worried. I havent had a date in over a year. She is a good friend and i dont want to mess that up with us. I need some advice please.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (18 April 2008):

If you see it as friendship and aren't interested in her romantically, make this clear as tactfully as you can. Some people think there is no such thing as friendship with the opposite sex.

Just act like you normally do. Be her friend and get to know her more.

If there is chemistry between you then you will be able to tell, you will flirt and it will all be good.

Just relax and be yourself.

Good Luck!! xx

well i cant tell you how to do things however try not to be too forward or get too excited and missread the situation and do something silly think ok it as just a movie night with a friend that way you will avoid messing up. Good luck
