I started a slimming club a four months ago in a desperate attempt to shed some of my baby weight.. It was working fine for the first few weeks and then the weight loss slowed down, i was excercising as much as i could and sticking to the diet. I was gutted and dissapointed, I wish now i could turn back the clock as I began making myself sick after meals and sure enough the weight came off! Im such an idiot... here i am 19 weeks later almost 4st lighter... problem is im now addicted to being sick, i feel guilty if i keep any food down and its having a serious effect on my health. What else did I expect? I know now its time to stop it! Im just so scared off the weight coming back.. If anyone reading this has been through the same thing can you please offer me some advice? and my advice to anyone else wanting to lose weight is PLEASE dont do this to yourself, you will regret it x

A male reader, CaringGuy United Kingdom +, writes (28 September 2009):

Hi sweetie. The first thing is you're not alone. I'm a guy, so I haven't been though this, but I have had a female friend who has. The best thing is that you've identified you have a problem! That's really, really great, because you now know that you're ill and that you need to do something about it. First of all, please speak to a doctor. They will tell you all the facts about this illness (Bulimea I think is what is it) and will suggest the best course of action for you. Listen to what he/she has to say. They will likely send you to counselling and you'll almost certainly be on medication of some kind. Remember that newborn of yours will need a healthy mummy! Speak to your doctor. All the best. x
