A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

This is going to sound self-centered, but this is a question about the relationship with myself.

When I was twelve to fourteen years old, I had a minor case of anorexia because I was depressed and did not like living where I lived. This was my first case of it and it ultimately led to my stunt in growth. At the time, I was under 5'0" and about 78 lbs. I'm now 5'5" when I'm biologically supposed to be 5'8" and I'm 112.5 lbs. Anyways, after my ex and I broke up four months ago, I went through another case of anorexia for a couple months and dropped from 110 lbs to 100 lbs within a week. I stayed 100 lbs up until about a month ago and then I gained 12.5 lbs.

Anyways, for some reason, lately, I haven't been able to stop eating at least every three hours. And they are all full meals! What's worse is that I'm terrified of gaining anymore weight than where I'm at now. I know I'm far from being over-weight, but my peak weight is where I'm at now. I'm just having issues again but I do not want to go back to being anorexic! I've dealt with that crap for far too long and it's nearly ruined my life at one point. I need help controlling my intake.

Help please... Thanks.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (8 April 2009):

You need to reach out and get some support and assistance. Anorexia can not be managed on one's own. If you have family yoou can talk to, reach out and ask them to support you while you seek treatment. If you really are anorexia you need to understand the underlying cause and develop coping mechanisms to employ in times of stress like in the wake of your recent breakup.

Good luck.
