Hello. This isnt a relationship problem, but I desperatly need help with this problem. I am 13 years old. My mother took me to a tattoo parlor to get my upper ear pierced [ cartilage ] for my birthday. I didnt know if they would put a stud in or a ring, but they put in a ring [ which I didnt mind ]. It didnt hurt at first, but after awhile it got infected. There was pus, so I had to clean it with H2Ocean and peroxide, eventually it went away, but now I REALLY want to take the earring out. The earring is a little ring with a ball on it and I dont know how to take it out. Does anyone have one of these piercings? How did you take it out? Did you have to go back to the back you got it done so they could remove it? Can I put in just a regular earring? If I remove it how do I put it back in? All answers are greatly appreciated, thanxxx

if its a new piercing and its infected you should probably go back to the parlor. they can give you what you need to get rid of it. and you should NEVER take out a new cartelage peircing and try to change it at home. you can go back to the parlor, tell them that you want it replaced, and they will replace the ring to a stud there most of the time.

Hi, original poster here again. Yes I did wait for it to heal before I took it out, it wasnt hard to take it out. At first it was but then it just came out easily. The ball is too small to fit back on the ring though, I really dont know what kinf of earring they gave me...

xanthic agony auntHopefully you waited until the piercing was fully healed first, otherwise changing the jewelry too often will irritate and possibly infect it again.

Anyway, it sounds like they gave you a captive bead ring, which usually has to be opened and closed with pliers. Why not get something easier to take out and put back in, like a horseshoe ring? It's similar to what you have now, but one end screws off.

aunt honesty agony auntOk check to see if you can unscrew the ball on it to losen it am sure your mum will help you with this just ask her, yes you can put a normal earing in to it and yes if you remove it you can put it back in but if you keep it out for a long time, like a couple of weeks it could close up on you.
