Hiya Everyone, I have a phobia of sickness I have never understood where it has come from or why it is me that has it?

It used to be really bad when I was younger, I know it sounds really stupid but a boy was sick over my table in a class that I was in and I actually ran screaming, crying and shaking to the other side of the class room where i hid under the table!Yes I know that this sounds quite bad but this is (bassialy) where it all begin in year 7!

It got so bad that I used to refuse to go to school and got so scared that I ended up getting nervous mirganes! I had to go to therpy and even though I was surrounded by a loving and suporting family I really struggled.

I then found horse ridng where I now have a saturday job at the stables and suround myself with horses as much as possible, but now I know that I must of been pushing it under the mat, because there is still some of the traits of my phobia... I know adding to it I have trouble with eating, I wont eat something that doesnt looks a bit weird or something that is just out of date, I hate eating any types of meat as im scared I will get sick! I have never been a fat person, but I have found that I can go from 9 stone when Im going though a good patch but then down to 7 when its bad, I have different sized cloths for what wieght I am.

Ive been in the situation before where somone was sick near me at school and I almost fainted, I shake so badly that some peopel explain it as a fit (its not but looks like it) I sob and just want to curl into a ball and sob and cry and just want it to be over.

What I do all the day I am always using hand saniter and am washing my hands, I dont clean my anything without gloves on and struggle to do anything that invovles even a little chance of someone being sick.

I had a thing about exams I majorly paniced, cried shoke, felt sick and everything so was alwful but managed toget 8 A*-C GCSEs.

Yes Ive had help with this before and actually went to a therapist, I didnt really help me more just putting my head down and learning to deal with the fact that my life might just be a bit more of a challenage of me.

I started 6th form in September and all was okay, untill the stress hit me now I have got IBS which is set of every morning that I have to get up early! Which is everyday for 6th form,

This has set of my phobia again, and am just putting on a face when really I am struggling again!

Please is there anyone out there like me?

person12345 agony auntYou have something called emetophobia. It's a debilitating phobia for sure and seems to often be severe more than other phobias. Basically phobias stem from anxiety disorders and in order to treat a phobia, you need to learn how to cope with anxiety. There are a lot of different methods. You won't be able to get anything out of therapy unless you are willing. You get out what you put in. Therapy can't do the work for you, a lot of it is simply having someone not telling you constantly "get over it, it's not going to make you sick, just deal with it" and instead both sympathizing with you and giving you suggestions on how to get past what is bothering you. Once you can get past certain situations, it becomes easier to do in the future with practice. You are reprogramming your brain to teach it "this isn't dangerous." Your brain is reacting by freaking out and going "this is going to kill me!" and you need to teach it "no it won't." At the beginning it's just learning to say, looking at it won't hurt you.

PM me and I can give you a link to a website I'm certain will help you.
