Ofcorse I agree with acouple of others who said a shower with your partner right before is very sexy and is a major turn on for both parties you are never more cleaner than right after you get out of the shower. A Plus is also he will be more inclined to do other activities after you shower. As far as the smell, a shower just to rinse off the swet an BO your body produces during sex could help i know it does for me.

Everyone else has said good things but missed one thing.
Your boyfriend could be the cause too. Mine was. I wash well and I use special products like summers eve to make sure I am clean. I rarely douch unless I am about to get a pap smear. My doctor told me to mention to my bf to wash himself before sex. Based on your age I'm not sure if you can do this but a sexy shower together before sex can make sure that you are BOTH clean and should help with the problem.

Do not wear thongs. That little string is a speed lane for bacteria from your anus to your vagina. You can buy pretty panties with a cotton crotch so you can breathe. Also, don't wear tight panties ... they need to fit properly so air can circulate and you won't have excessive moisture.
Yes, pee after sex ... right away. It is not good enough to fall asleep and then wake up a few hours later to pee.
After peeing, wipe from front to back. Of course you know to wash after going to the bathroom but if you're getting a lot of UTIs, you should probably wash your hands before, as well. In fact, make sure your boyfriend washes his hands before touching you!
Do not use perfumed soap down there. Use a mild, fragrance free cleansing lotion and rinse, rinse, rinse.
As for odor: if you are clean, there is no fishy smell. That said, don't over wash either. If you disrupt the natural ph balance, you're going to have other troubles besides UTIs, like a yeast infection.
Anytime I have a question, I put it in my browser ... I bet there is a ton of solid information on the internet.

Umm ok, as far as how your area is supposed to smell...ask your doctor. If you've had a pap smear before (which you should have since you've been sexually active) they always tell you that fishy odors are wrong, as well as chunky green or yellow stuff. Okay, so enough of the gross stuff. Make sure you pee after sex. Having sex can stir up bacteria and it gets up into your urethra. So try to do that and drink cranberry juice and water! UTI's from sex are actually fairly common.
