We got along pretty well throughout the quarter, but would it be inappropriate to tell him that I like him? And how do I tell him that I like him?

Personally, I'm in love with one of my teachers at the moment and telling them would be the dumb thing to do. The problem is that I'm leaving the school in July and leave her forever...
Now back to you, I wouldn't do it over email, and I wouldn't do it at all. If you really, REALLY want to be with this person, I'd just email them a merry xmas, and, on new years' eve/day, send them a happy new yr 1. Just be nice to them, and tell them when the time is right. Personally, I don't think the time is right on holiday. You'll have to come back to the consquences of doing it over email. At least face to face you'll have it sorted out unless one of you runs away.

reader, anonymous, writes (18 December 2007): I'm not sure what a TA is - over here it's someone in the Territorial Army - but if you like him and want to see if he likes you why not just tell him you like him and ask him if he fancies a date?
Email isn't the best way. Face to face is much better.
