The only way to handle this is calmly and don't react like a pit bull terrier then when you get outside scream, blow raspberries panel beat the side of an old car. The reason being that this is a fight you are not going to win.
As for your man if he is anything like me he will just wish you could all live in peace and rather than upset anyone he is keeping well out of it because he can't win. It is easy for you because you have no ties with them.
You may hate them you may loathe them but they are your husbands family you don't have to love them you just have to tolerate them... Oh and remember the cardinal rule you will never be good enough for their son.
In short don't play into their hands..So don't get smart with them Just be smarter than them
