A female reader, anonymous, writes (22 June 2007):

My friend had horribly yellowed teeth from smoking and not getting dental care. She started brushing with just Baking Soda twice a day, and her teeth are now whiter than white. I started using baking soda & vinegar to clean my bathroom, and it just bleaches things. And it scrubs well. It is gentle on your teeth, so don't be afraid to use it. If you can't handle the taste, dump some baking soda on your toothbrush on top of the toothpaste, but it works a lot better if you use it alone. Don't expect it to work over night though, give it a few weeks to see full results. It will be worth it, and baking soda is really cheap & works a lot better than expensive whitening strips or toothpaste (which is bad for your teeth anyways) Good Luck!!!

Cateyes agony auntI like using a toothpaste called Rembrandt. It is for whitening of the teeth. It is sold in many stores and I believe on the internet. Flossing and (I prefer) using Listerine to gargle. I don't use this toothpaste everyday, but maybe 3-4 times a week. I use Colgate daily. I think as long as you brush twice daily and floss, your teeth should get back to it's "normal" color. If your teeth are extremely colored, I would suggest seeing your dentist as their are so many options today for fast, safe results.

Good Luck...
